Pixar’s Disney+ Pandemic Movies Make Surprise Theatrical Debut

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, several major movies bypassed US theaters and went straight to streaming services. This included Pixar’s Soul, Turning Red, and Luca, all of which made their debut on streaming platforms. However, in 2024, these animated films are set to make a theatrical comeback. Soul will be released in theaters on January 12, Turning Red on February 9, and Luca on March 22.

Although these movies have been available for up to three years, their theatrical release may still attract audiences who want to experience the films as originally intended. Additionally, these releases may also help boost Disney’s financial performance, especially since the company is only scheduled to release one Marvel movie next year, Deadpool 3Inside Out 2 is set to hit theaters on June 14.
