Tesla has updated its purchase agreement to remove a provision that would allow the company to take legal action against Cybertruck buyers who resell the vehicle within the first year. Previously, the agreement stated that Tesla could seek injunctive relief or demand up to $50,000 in damages if buyers breached the resale provision. Additionally, buyers could face a ban from purchasing Tesla vehicles in the future. This clause is similar to ones used by other car companies to prevent resellers from scalping rare or expensive cars, but the Cybertruck is meant to be a mass-produced vehicle. Tesla has faced delays in the production of the Cybertruck, with full-fledged production not expected until 2024.
