The beta for the new Nothing Chats messaging app has been pulled from the Play Store just a day after release, and the launch has been delayed. The app was touted as a solution to Android versus Apple texting woes, with support for both RCS and iMessage. However, critics have expressed concerns about the security of Nothing Chats, pointing out that it lacks end-to-end encryption and uses HTTP instead of HTTPS. Kishan Bagaria, founder of Texts.com, called it “extremely insecure” and said that outgoing texts are being leaked in plaintext. Nothing has acknowledged the delay and stated that they are working to fix bugs and address the concerns. The beta was released on November 14 and was removed from the Play Store on November 18.
