We know we always say this, but it really seems like just yesterday we were all crammed in a single room in Las Vegas eating mediocre takeout and voting for our best in show. But CES 2024 is almost here. The show officially runs from January 9 – 12, though events related to CES are expected to kick off on January 7.
Last year, there was a focus on accessibility and a concerning amount of devices meant for bodily functions. We’re likely to see more devices designed to assist those with hearing impairments and mobility restrictions at this year’s show, but there are also expected to be some new trends stealing headlines.
One trend we anticipate is the proliferation of user-friendly solar technology from brands like Anker and Jackery. Clean energy technology, in the form of consumer hardware, will likely be a big focus at CES 2024. Solar panels that are easy to install and do not require professional assistance are gaining popularity, especially as the cost of energy rises in many places outside the US.
Another potentially big trend we expect to see is MEMS earbud drivers. These drivers, produced by companies like xMEMS, promise improved response, better durability, and more consistent fidelity. Additionally, Wi-Fi 7 is expected to be a major theme at CES 2024, with many new devices expected to support the faster, more efficient Wi-Fi standard.
Additionally, PCs equipped with chips featuring NPUs, or neural processing units, will likely be a major focus. NPUs are designed to handle AI tasks more efficiently, and could potentially change the way users interact with their computers.
Lastly, we anticipate that truly wireless TVs will be a highlight at CES 2024. Displace, a company that made a splash at CES 2023 with its truly wireless TV prototypes, is expected to unveil more details about its innovative product.
In short, CES 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting event with many groundbreaking innovations expected to be showcased.
