Bungie has delayed the release of the forthcoming Destiny 2 expansion, The Final Shape, until June 4 of next year. The expansion was originally set to be launched earlier and will act as an end to the game’s main storyline. The delay is due to the company needing more time to polish the title and deliver a bigger and bolder vision. As a result, Bungie is adjusting its release calendar, with the final season in the game’s calendar, Season of the Wish, starting tomorrow. This season will include more content than previously anticipated to offset the delay. In February, there will be weekly progression-based quests called Wishes, and in March, the Guardian Games will be focused on class vs. class combat. Lastly, in April, players will get a two-month content update called Destiny 2: Into the Light that will act as a bridge to The Final Shape. Bungie has also pushed back the release date for the extraction shooter Marathon until 2025. The Final Shape expansion will include new dungeons, new maps, new character classes, and more, wrapping up the game’s storyline.
