Epic Games Wins Antitrust Lawsuit Against Google jury ruling

Epic Games sued Google for violating US antitrust laws. A federal jury found Google guilty of having a monopoly on app distribution and in-app billing services for Android devices. The jury ruled that Google’s distribution agreements with other gaming companies and device manufacturers were anticompetitive. Epic claimed that Google had quietly paid developers to make their games available on the Play Store, and the jury found that Google negatively impacted Epic Games. As a result of the lawsuit, the court will work on remedies starting in January. Google plans to challenge the verdict, stating that Android and Google Play offer more choice and openness than any other major mobile platform.
