ASUS recently brought its $700 ROG Maximus Z790 Hero EVA-02 Edition motherboard to the US, delighting fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion. However, it seems that ASUS made a small typo in the anime brand, misspelling “EVANGELION” as “EVANGENLION.” This mistake can be seen alongside the “Polymo lighting” I/O cover panel, which displays the red mecha and its pilot, Asuka. The official product shots also contained the typo at the time of publishing, indicating that ASUS may have made an error in production. Despite this, the limited edition motherboard has become a sought-after collectible, with third-party sellers listing it for over $1,000 on Amazon. Although it has since sold out, some Micro Center stores may still have stock available.
