Roland unveiled its latest software plugin instrument, Galaxias. It offers access to 20,000 sounds, running as a standalone application on macOS, Windows, and as a VST3 or AU plugin. The plugin provides access to sounds across Roland’s entire history, with presets from iconic instruments like the Jupiter 8 synthesizer and the TR 808 drum machine, as well as newer releases like Zenology. Galaxias also allows users to layer up to four instruments together and create custom soundscapes called Scenes. Macro controls let users change up to 128 parameters via LFOs or an external MIDI controller. Galaxias is included with a Roland Cloud subscription, which costs $200 per year or $20 per month, and offers a 30-day free trial.
