Nintendo hosted a showcase event featuring trailers for new Nintendo Switch titles from small studios. While no trailer for “Hollow Knight: Silksong” was revealed, other metroidvania news included an upcoming Shantae game, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, set for release sometime next year. The game has been in development for over 20 years and features multiple layers for Shantae to explore.
“Moonstone Island” is a cozy game with elements of Pokémon and Stardew Valley, set for release on the Switch in spring of next year. Another anticipated game making its way to the Switch is “Core Keeper,” a mining-themed roguelike scheduled for release in 2024. The game features addictive gameplay and a multiplayer component.
The tactical RPG Howl surprise-launched recently, featuring turn-based battles and a demo available for those interested. Another upcoming game, A Highland Song, is set for release on December 5 and promises an adaptive narrative and a soundtrack featuring Scottish folk bands.
Other upcoming titles showcased at Indie World include a refresh of the iconic game Braid, as well as Backpack Hero and Passpartout 2: The Lost Artist. All of these games are set for release in the near future.
