An anonymous Nintendo fan has remade The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening in a high frame rate with widescreen, letting the player zoom out up to the entirety of Koholint Island. It is called “Link’s Awakening DX HD” and supports 120 frames per second, providing “unparalleled fluidity.” The fan-made game also improves the transitions and camera mechanics of the original, offering an experience that likely violated Nintendo’s copyright laws. The 24MB game is still available for free download on itch.io if you’re interested.
