Meta has stopped selling the Elite Strap with battery for the Quest 3 due to a firmware-related charging defect. The accessory extended the VR headset’s runtime but is currently unavailable from Meta and third-party retailers. Meta plans to replace the headsets on a case-by-case basis and is manufacturing a new batch to fix the firmware issues. Some owners have reported issues with the battery and Teac casual users mention the issue could be common. Meta is working on restocking replacement units and making new units with updated firmware. This is not the first time Meta has had problems with their Elite Straps, as both versions of the 2020 accessory for the Quest 2 had troubles with cracking.
