Teenage Engineering’s latest offering is a portable sampler/groovebox that costs just $300. The company, which typically markets its Pocket Operators as toys, is now advertising the EP-133 K.O. II as a workstation. Despite its affordable price point, the device boasts impressive features including 64MB of memory, 999 slots for samples, and an internal microphone. It connects via USB-C, runs on four AAA batteries, and comes with a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. The K.O. II also features a rectangular LED screen and 12 mono and 6 stereo voice polyphony. Teenage Engineering hopes this versatile product will appeal to both music-making newbies and professionals. It’s available now and is the company’s first dedicated music-making machine released since last year’s OP-1 Field.
