LG will launch 32-inch 4K MyView monitors with built-in smart TV features to compete with Samsung. These monitors are designed for regular monitor tasks but also contain LG’s webOS 23, similar to Samsung’s M8 smart monitors. The three models have 31.5-inch 16:9 4K IPS displays, 95 percent DCI-P3 coverage, HDR10 support, and webOS 23. They also support streaming services, productivity programs, AirPlay 2, Miracast, and have WiFi and Bluetooth built-in. However, the 32SR70U has lower brightness and USB Type-C PD charging compared to the other models. The 32SR85U has additional features like 90W support, slim bezels, and an adjustable stand. The higher-end 85U and 83U screens also have slim bezels and an adjustable stand, while the 70U has a “low-profile base.” The 32SR85U can be used with a detachable 1080p webcam for video conferencing. However, the 60Hz refresh rate doesn’t support high-end gaming. LG claims its MyView monitors offer better picture quality than Samsung’s M8 series, but the price will ultimately determine buyer attractiveness. The price of the 32SR83U in Korea is announced as 699,000 won (around $538). Samsung’s M8 is often sold for as low as $400.
