Unity just announced a new early access build for general use, Muse, an AI-powered tool package for game development intended to streamline the process for those lacking the time or patience for intensive coding. Priced at $30 per month, Muse is described as an “ever-expanding suite of AI-powered features” for developers of all skill levels. The platform includes a chatbot to source usable code and answer questions from the resource library. Muse also offers a tool for streamlined creation of 2D sprites and textures for use in 2D and 3D projects. The platform ensures that generated sprites and textures don’t infringe any copyrights. More AI mechanisms for tasks like animating characters and setting NPC behaviors will be added soon. Muse subscribers also get access to a rapid-prototyping and collaboration platform called Sketch. Unity Unite conference also revealed Sentis, an AI-powered neural engine for solving coding problems and creating new in-game features. Unity also announced cloud-connected tools for collaborations and the availability of Unity 6 next year.
