AWS re:Invent conference has kicked off in Las Vegas, with a focus on AI technology. The company unveiled Trainium2, designed for model training and running trained models, promising better performance and energy efficiency. Anthropic plans to build with Trainium2 chips. Graviton4 processors, based on Arm architecture, offer general performance increases and are available in preview. Amazon is also offering cloud access to NVIDIA’s H200 AI GPUs and announced Amazon Q, a generative AI-powered personal assistant for work projects and customer service, available in preview. This shows Amazon’s commitment to being a leader in the enterprise AI and cloud computing space, challenging rivals like Microsoft.
