Capture One to Discontinue Free Photo-Editing Software Tier on January 30

Capture One is discontinuing its free Express tier for its photo-editing software suite effective on January 30. The company states that this decision was necessary in order to “focus on our main products.” After January 30, Express will no longer be available for download and license keys will expire. Any saved images and edits will also be lost. However, users can transfer images and edits from Express to the paid Pro version. The Pro version offers several tiers ranging from $24 to $34 per month, with the option to purchase the desktop client outright for $300. The software is compatible with over 500 cameras and offers features such as RAW conversion, color processing, and live sharing of shoots with colleagues. Although the free option is being discontinued, Capture One offers a 30-day free trial for those interested in the Pro version. Additionally, there is an option to purchase the iPhone app separately for $5 per month.
