Apple’s CarPlay interface has been teased in luxury cars from Porsche and Aston Martin. The new interface, previewed more than a year ago at Apple’s WWDC in 2022, will connect with all displays in a vehicle, not just the central infotainment screen. It will offer customization options, allowing users to personalize the widgets and apps on the screen to match the style of the car brand. Porsche and Aston Martin are the first automakers to announce their collaborations with Apple for branded CarPlay systems, with Aston Martin planning to debut CarPlay displays on the DB12 coupe and DB12 convertible in 2024. There are no specific timing details regarding the launch of the tool in any Porsche models, but it is possible that the latest CarPlay features could make their way into VW and Audi models in the future.
