Snapchat’s “My AI” suite offers a ChatGPT-powered chatbot, AI-generated “Dreams” selfie effects, and more for users. In the latest update, Snapchat+ subscribers can now use AI to extend images with a simple click, making the app more practical. Additionally, subscribers can directly generate Snaps by typing a prompt and can now generate fantastical portraits with friends in them using the Dreams feature. Subscribers receive one pack of eight Dreams selfies every month, while non-subscribers get a free trial pack. Snap’s AI efforts have led to an increase in subscribers, with the goal of reaching ten million in the medium term. However, competition from platforms like Meta is fierce, and Snap will need to continue developing new AI-powered tools to stay competitive.
