Tesla took legal action against the Swedish transportation agency and postal service due to a union strike preventing the delivery of license plates. The Swedish Transport Agency was ordered by a district court to allow Tesla to collect the plates within seven days or face fines. The agency is still unsure of the implications of this decision. Tesla delivered 9,000 electric vehicles in Sweden in 2022 and claims that the refusal to provide license plates affects numerous consumers. The Swedish automaker accuses the agency of refusing to allow them to collect the plates themselves or receive them through an alternate method. The workers striking against Tesla demand a collective bargaining agreement. Tesla is known for its anti-union policy and justifies this by stating that its employees already receive fair compensation. Other unions in Sweden have joined the strike. The agency, workers, and Tesla have differing points of view on the situation.
