Acer has unveiled the Nitro V 16, a new gaming laptop featuring the newly announced AMD Ryzen 8040 Series processor. This powerful processor is equipped with AI technology to support advanced ray-traced visuals for modern gaming applications.
The Nitro V 16 offers customizable specs, with GPU options including the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 with DLSS 3.5 tech and Ray Reconstruction for AI-powered ray-tracing. The laptop also comes with two display options, both offering 165 Hz refresh rates and 3ms response times for fluid visuals with minimal ghosting and screen tearing.
In terms of other specs, users can upgrade the laptop with up to 32GB of DRR55600 RAM and 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. Acer has also implemented a new cooling system with high-powered fans and a proprietary NitroSense utility app for monitoring performance and temperature. Additionally, the laptop features three microphones with AI-enhanced noise reduction, DTS:X Ultra sound optimization for immersive audio, and a variety of connectivity options including USB-4 Type C, USB 3, HDMI, microSD card reader, and WiFi 6E compatibility.
The naming convention of the AMD processor may seem confusing, but it signifies the use of advanced Zen 4 architecture and the type of Zen 3 architecture utilized. The Nitro V 16 gaming laptop, which runs on Windows 11, will be available in March with a starting price of $1,000 for the base model and includes one month of Xbox Game Pass.
