LG’s ‘Hand ID’ unlock gimmick hasn’t been forgotten. It was tried on the G8 ThinQ but didn’t impress. However, Realme has brought a similar feature back, the GT5 Pro, with support for practical hand gestures. The phone uses a 32MP selfie camera to detect palm prints. Realme claims it’s faster than face recognition and has passed a penetration test involving over 10 million attacks. The phone also supports several hand gestures like taking a screenshot by using a three-finger palm gesture. It encompasses Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED panel, a 5,400mAh battery, and IP64 for dust and liquid protection. It also features a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 3x periscopic telephoto camera, similar to the Oppo Find X6 series. The Realme GT5 Pro is available in China starting from 3,298 yuan or roughly $460.
