Atlus and its subsidiary Studio Zero have announced the forthcoming RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio at The Game Awards. Directed by Katsura Hashino of Persona 5 fame, the game takes place in a fantasy setting, a departure from the high school setting of its predecessor. The game’s announcement trailer showcased full voice acting, cinematics and gameplay, a refreshing change from the usual teaser trailers. The combat system appears similar to Persona, with a diverse cast of characters and a robust social element. The game also features a steampunk aesthetic and is set to launch on Xbox X/S and PC in the fall of the following year.
