Samsung’s Unpacked event is set for January 17 at 1PM ET, which is earlier than usual. Typically, these events happen in the first week of February, making this a switch-up with CES 2024. The event will take place in-person at the SAP Center in San Jose and will also be live streamed across Samsung’s various channels.
No details have been advertised yet, but it’s highly likely that Samsung will announce the arrival of the Galaxy S24 flagship smartphone series and open up pre-orders immediately after the event. The company has already started a “pre-reserve” program where you can reserve your spot to pre-order something, with no commitment, and receive a $50 credit toward the device.
Last year, the Galaxy S23 and S23+ were minor refreshes, so the anticipation is for the S24 to up the ante. Samsung tends to unveil new Galaxy smartphones at Unpacked, just like Apple tends to use September for new iPhone announcements.
However, the presentation may not be limited to just Galaxy S24 smartphones. Samsung also tends to announce new laptop iterations at the first Unpacked each year, so there may be announcements for the Galaxy Book4 or similar devices.
