Cameo has added Cookie Monster and Elmo to its celebrities available for personalized video greetings. For $25, customers can get a personalized video from the Sesame Street icons. Cameo describes them as “powered by artificial intelligence.” Other celebrities on Cameo include Kenny G, Danica McKellar, and Billy Dee Williams. Cookie Monster’s sample message on Cameo’s website reveals that his voice is AI-generated. Similar disclosures for Elmo notify customers that AI powers them as well. The article questions whether parents will find it worth paying for greetings conjured by artificial intelligence.
