Jack Black is said to be playing Minecraft Steve in the long-delayed film adaptation. It’s been in development since 2014 and has gone through three directors and two delayed release windows. Its current release date is set for April 4, 2025. The plot involves a team of adventurers saving the blocky Overworld from the malevolent Ender Dragon. Jack Black has already played Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and his role as Steve will show in gaming adaptations. The film is set to be directed by Jared Hess, while production is starting soon. Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen have also joined the cast.
