Spaceflight has had a record year, with a whopping 200 successful orbital launches. Private companies such as SpaceX have been instrumental in driving the new space race driven by innovation. SpaceX has managed multiple crewed flights with its Dragon capsule and has advanced the Starship spacecraft, despite encountering problems. Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket returned to successful suborbital flights in December after months of being grounded, with New Glenn expected to make its inaugural flight in 2024. United Launch Alliance and Rocket Lab both encountered delays in their operations, with ULA’s Vulcan rocket scheduled for a maiden flight in January 2024.
